1. What is the difference between the way children learn and the way adults learn?
Well, I think that children and adults have several distinct learning styles. To be more exact, kids seem to learn best through active participation and hands-on activities, while adults would usually prefer a more traditional way of learning such as by reading or listening to lectures. Additionally, in terms of motivation, children tend to be more curious and eager about learning new things than adults because they don’t have many professional concerns such as career advancement or salary.
2. How has teaching changed in your country in the last few decades?
Well, I’d say the teaching methods in Vietnam have generally changed a lot over the past few decades. So, in the past, Vietnamese teachers were often seen as experts who were responsible for imparting knowledge to students. However, today they are more like facilitators who assist students by asking questions, providing feedback and encouraging them to think outside the box. Apart from that, the increased use of technology such as computers or projectors in classrooms has also helped teachers deliver lessons in a more engaging and interactive way.
3. Do you think computers will one day replace teachers in the classroom?
Honestly speaking, I don’t think computers will ever be able to replace teachers in the classroom. What I mean is although computers can be a valuable tool for delivering instructions or giving practice, they can’t certainly replace the human touch in terms of personal attention and guidance that teachers can provide. Moreover, computers are not yet capable of understanding and responding to the unique needs of each student, something a human teacher can always do better.
