Describe a situation in which you had to be polite
You should say
what the situation was
Who was there
How you showed your politeness
And explain why you had to be polite
I still remember very clearly the time when I had an interview for my first part-time job as a teaching assistant (TA), about 7 years ago.
To be honest, I was quite nervous at that time when I was the 1st person to be called in for the interview. However, I still tried my best to stay calm and be as polite as possible to give the interviewer a good impression. Luckily, the interviewer was quite nice and she greeted me with a welcoming smile. Of course, I also politely responded with “Good morning, ma’am“.
Sometimes, you know, when I wasn't sure about one of her questions, I asked "Sorry, could you please repeat the question?". She was quite patient with me, I guess. Finally, at the end of the interview, she gave me a warm hug when I said “Thanks a lot for your time”, which made me feel quite comfortable after all.
Personally I think that we always need to be polite, not only in situations like this but also in our daily life, because this is good behaviour. This is also something that I expect from others when they’re talking to me.
